400m of glory - on grass!

Mr Norfolk showed he had lost none of his speed when he took a closely fought 400m grass title at Mildenhall at the weekend beeting former champ R Kennedy Esq, Russ McLean and our own Joby Ingram-Dodd in the final. Then Dan Wolfie took to the grass and burnt off some well established names to fill his pockets with banknotes while Eve Kenyon rode excellently in the Women's races. Great weekend had by all and is a must for 2007 if you have not been. snaps to come later - I hope
Meanwhle, down in Pembrokeshireland, Jeanette Baxter was fastest lady in both the 15m tt and the hill climb and 2nd in the 10tt.

We are japanese -si

Remember that song? Can't remember who it was now, the brain cells seemingly dimming after all these years in the Velodrome. Anyway, the point of this mild rambling is that we have 5 guest riders riding for the clubat the Masters - at their request. And I must admit to feeling rather humblled. Last year world masters sprint champ and Pro keirin rider Shigekazu Maruyama is coming again to ride with us along with his compatriots Hiroshi Hatori, Tadasi Tanuma, Makiko Hmada and Emi Wachi. I'm sure they will be made most welcome while they are here.
Emi.

And that reminds me, Mr Robon of the Dave type waas in t'velodrome last night honing his legs and keeping his back straight as he prepares for the Masters - again. Great to see him back. Nice too to see the Team Sprint boys getting it together. Simon starting well fast!
And not forgetting Dave Jackson who rode very well in Edinburgh GP last weekend.

Junior / Youth nationals

Mixed news from the nationals. Dan W and Mikey have been riding really well taking several top places and missing the medals by a fraction. Jo W took the bronze in the junior sprint - whilst still a youth - but then wa ttaken out in the last lap of the scratch race by a rider coming off their line and has sustained some injuries - thankfully not serious it turns out. Anyway, see here for Jo W on t'podium http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/web/site/BC/tra/EventReports2006/20060818_D4_Junior_Champs.asp

More snaps from Dublin

Eat your heart out Larry, we had Noor on the spot with his super mega pixel tingy and he actually managed to get some riders in the shot! 'Ere Runner Boy is getting a sweat on leading Uncle Jon round.

Now Jon looks across to see if Georgous has got him a cup of tea so he can get off his flippin bike! Runner Boy already knows the tea has gone cold by the look of him.

Angela is frozen as Mr Wilman prepares his mind for the task ahead - getting to the cake stall ahead of Jon.
