A run of precious metals

A great last day for the Yasumitsu-Schlapp riders at the World Masters today. Eve Kenyon took gold in the women's pursuit [50+] after a thrilling final ride. A few moments later, our jappanese rider Emi Waachi took another gold in a younger age group. The Daviid Robson took gold in the over 135 team sprint while riding for a composite GB team. And FilHuf, Gwyn and Simon took a wonderful Silver in the OPEN team Sprint - the best club team in the world - again!

Well done to everyone this year!!

World Best

Jo Fenwick continued her good form by setting two New World Best times in the sprint events at the World Masters - best in t and best in races. Sadly, Jo's form deserted her in the final taking a fine 3rd place. Schlapp's Emi [Japan ]took 5th.

Ruff and tuff sprinting

Great riding by Schlapp riders in the younger age groups led to some rough riding - handing it out and receiving by all accounts. Anyway, Messers Huff, Churton, Carless, Ski & Baxter put in some great efforts by by the time of the second rd reps they were all out!
Two riders in the mens points didn't fair too much better - but everyone had a great time and that is tha main point - isn't it?

3 Golds and a bronze!

How did we do that? Well first up Jo Fenwick won the 50+ Womens 500mtt in great stylee. then up popped Maruyama who had been riding well all day to win the 40-45 mens sprint in the most fantastic final. taking on the two most dynamic and fast sprinter that had been riding that day from RSA and USA, Maruyama accelerated with such force that the other riders went backwards.
Then Emi - one of our Japanese girls took bronze in the 40-45 womens 500m tt.
brilliant! But hey? Who took the other gold? None other than Ellen Hunter at the UCI world paralympic champs pilotong Aileen McGlynn in the tandem kilo !

Bronze for Robbo

On the comeback trail after a while out with a dodgy back, dave Robson took a bronze in the World masters 750m tt.
Great rides by all the schlapps - including two of our japanese friends resulted in a grand 5th place in the kilo for Gwyn, a PB for Ski who was just beaten by Simon Churton.
Maruyama rides on Tuesday !!!

21

Masters are round the corner - or should that be 'the bend' and Yasumitsu-Schlapp/Vital/Trigon/Schwalbe have 21 riders entered including our Japanese guests.
At the first TL of the season there were wins for Mr Wilman - coming on form nicely and Mikey McManus with Paul Anderson taking some nice placings.
